\nToday I want to bring you in a beautiful place, scenic and adventurous. We\u2019ll have to walk a bit on mountain trails, so remember to take with you a snack and you favourite trekking shoes!<\/p>\n

\"Is<\/a>
Is there anybody?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Departing from Ribetti hamlet in Pramollo you\u2019ll find the directions, that in no more than half an hour will lead you on the side of the mountain overlooking Val Chisone. During your path you\u2019ll have the opportunity to admire a beautiful panorama.<\/p>\n

When you\u2019ll reach the crest of the mountain and you\u2019ll have Villar Perosa below you, there will be a last sign pointing to a rocky wall. Watching carefully, you\u2019ll see a cave which is called Tuna Griotta<\/em>. Tuna<\/em> means \u201chole\u201d or \u201cburrow\u201d, while Griotta takes the name from who, according to the legend, inhabited this place for some time.<\/p>\n

\"This<\/a>
This is the interior of the cavern, divided in two \u201crooms\u201d. To reach the one on the rear you need to crouch down or be small like me!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On the basis of one of the stories, this small cave had been the shelter of a certain Griot, a Waldensian captain who hid here during the religious persecutions carried out by the French soldiers. According to another version, here seeked refuge the captain Michele Griot, wounded during the Austian succession war. He would have been hidden here by his fellows waiting for his recovery.<\/p>\n

\"On<\/a>
On the side of the cavern there\u2019s a small window which can be useful as spy-hole.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Whatever can be the truth, it\u2019s quite easy to understand why this place has been chosen as shelter: from the trail passing near it, effectively, it\u2019s hard to see the cavern, and its access is hidden by a rocky spur. From the inside, instead, is easy to keep an eye on any approaching enemy!<\/p>\n

How to get here<\/strong>
\nFrom Pinerolo go to San Germano Chisone, and from here follow the directions to Pramollo.<\/em>
\nReach the Ru\u00e0 hamlet; when you arrive to the Waldensian temple take the road on the left and follow the directions to Ribetti hamlet until you see that the road in front of you becomes unpaved. At that point you have to go by feet and take the naturalistic trail indicated by a wooden signpost.<\/em>
\nAfter a walk of more or less half an hour, following the directions you\u2019ll find Tuna Griotta. The entrance is quite complicated to reach\u2026 the youngest boys and girls will have to be very cautious and an adult will have to hang around with them!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
