\nToday we are back in Angrogna (Pellice Valley), \u2018cause I really wonder if you know the \u201cfiar\u00e8sc\u201d (or \u201cfiareschi\u201d, in Italian)!
\nProbably none of you, or maybe just few, already heard about them, because they are part of that ancient heritage that – unfortunately – we are slowly losing and forgetting… In any case, I do not want to be mysterious, so I’ll tell you right away that these are ancient ways of passage that used to intensify the network of paths and mule tracks scattered all around the territory of Angrogna Valley.
\n<\/span>In the pictures you can see me in different places (and different seasons) of the Fiar\u00e9sc of the Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

On these streets anyone, inhabitants or foreigners, could circulate, and due to the importance they had for the flow of people, provisions and information they had to be always kept in perfect condition. In order to grant this, shifts of cleaning (called \u201croide\u201d) used to be organized, just like it used to happen for the maintenance of the \u201cgore\u201d like the Bealera Peyrota<\/a>. All of these maintenance works were carried out free of charge by the inhabitants of the nearby villages.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of them are:
\n– the fiar\u00e9sc of Prassuit<\/a>, from Angrogna to the Via Nuova
\n– the fiar\u00e9sc Vern\u00e9, which takes from the Rouchas<\/a> to the township Isoardi
\n– the fiar\u00e9sc of the Sea, which goes from the Gonin to the village Martel<\/a>, passing near Rocchamaneoud<\/a>
\n– the fiar\u00e9sc of Cottarone, which takes from Cacet to Vaccera<\/a>
\n– the fiar\u00e9sc of Serre, which goes from Pount Aout<\/a> to Chi\u00f2 del Lanto passing – indeed – from the Serre of Angrogna
\n– the fiar\u00e9sc of the Odin, which takes as well from the village of Odin<\/a> to Chi\u00f2 del Lanto<\/span><\/p>\n

Nowadays many parts of the fiar\u00e8sc are abandoned and flooded by vegetation, but observing the landscape you can often guess the paths traveled for so long by many and many feet… feet a bit bigger than mines!<\/span><\/p>\n
