{"id":3433,"date":"2019-05-17T08:02:48","date_gmt":"2019-05-17T06:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/?p=3433"},"modified":"2019-05-16T18:13:24","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T16:13:24","slug":"the-gypsy-woman-angrogna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/en\/2019\/05\/17\/the-gypsy-woman-angrogna\/","title":{"rendered":"The gypsy woman &#8211; Angrogna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning my little friends!<br \/>\nToday I really want to tell you a legend that took place in the Odin hamlet of Angrogna&#8230; which is exactly the same hamlet that also hosts the small <a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/en\/2013\/08\/30\/scuoletta-odin-bertot-2\/\">Beckwith school-museum<\/a>!<br \/>\nIt is said that once an old lady inhabitant of the village met a gypsy woman who was wandering across the valleys predicting future to people.<br \/>\nWhen the old woman approached her, she whispered in her ear: &#8220;In the chest where you store the bonnets, you hide a coin of great value!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3428\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1-547x825.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"547\" height=\"825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1-547x825.jpg 547w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1-398x600.jpg 398w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1-768x1159.jpg 768w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1-825x1245.jpg 825w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_1.jpg 994w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 547px) 100vw, 547px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The old woman was stunned because she had never told anyone that secret.<br \/>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">Moreover, the gypsy lady continued: &#8220;\u2026and in the basement you have a dirt pot full of silver coins&#8230; hidden in a dark corner, on the left&#8221;.<br \/>\n<\/span>The old lady was really impressed and immediately wanted to go and check that her little treasure was still there, but the former cold had made it difficult for her to walk and enter the cellar&#8230;<br \/>\nShe then asked the gypsy woman to go and check in her place, but the woman, before leaving, simply replied that she was not allowed to do so.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3429\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2-547x825.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"547\" height=\"825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2-547x825.jpg 547w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2-398x600.jpg 398w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2-768x1159.jpg 768w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2-825x1245.jpg 825w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/odin_valdesina_2.jpg 994w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 547px) 100vw, 547px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Later in the season, when the weather turned good and the pains of the old lady from Odin passed and she was healthy enough to go and retrieve her treasure, there she had a painful surprise: the pot was now filled with dried leaves!
