{"id":94,"date":"2013-08-28T08:00:36","date_gmt":"2013-08-28T06:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/?p=94"},"modified":"2018-09-29T12:28:39","modified_gmt":"2018-09-29T10:28:39","slug":"toumpi-dl-oursa-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/en\/2013\/08\/28\/toumpi-dl-oursa-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Legend: Toumpi d&#8217;l Oursa &#8211; Angrogna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning my friends!<br \/>\nToday we\u2019ll have to watch our step, unless we want to slip in the water and take a bath, just like it happened to the main character of the tale I\u2019m about to tell you\u2026.<br \/>\nFirst of all, however, I want to tell you something about the place we\u2019re visiting today.<br \/>\nThe site you can see in the picture is called \u201cToumpi d\u2019l Oursa\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_4-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3143 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_4-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_4-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_4-1-604x400.jpg 604w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_4-1-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cToumpi\u201d are natural pools that take form along mountain creeks\u2026 you know the difference between creeks and rivers, don\u2019t you? A creek is small stream of water that runs along a mountain, hopping through boulders and waterfalls: a river, instead, collects all of the creeks and, full of water, slowly goes down to the sea\u2026 if you live in a city, most probably what you see every day (if there is one) is a river.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3147 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_2-604x400.jpg 604w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_2-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here on the mountains we have many creeks and even if their water is very cold all year round (because it comes straight from high mountain glaciers), we use \u2018em in the summer to bathe and freshen up!<br \/>\n\u201cToumpi d\u2019l Oursa\u201d is located between <a title=\"Rouchalha \u2013 Angrogna\" href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/en\/2014\/10\/10\/rouchalha-angrogna-2\/\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Rocciaglia<\/span> <\/a>and the Barf\u00e8 bridge, along Angrogna creek, which is a feeder of the Pellice river; it runs down Rou mountain and gives the respective village its name.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_3-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3144 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_3-1-398x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_3-1-398x600.jpg 398w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_3-1-768x1159.jpg 768w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_3-1-547x825.jpg 547w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_3-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is told that once a farmer used to have an apple tree along the river.<br \/>\nThe tree had large and tasty fruits, and no one could steal them because the tree was leaning right above the river, and only a nimble and skilled climber could do it\u2026 no rascal had ever been brave enough to even try it!<br \/>\n\u2026well, someone else succeeded in doing it.<br \/>\nDo you know that bears are great gourmands and can climb well?<br \/>\nOne day the farmer, tired of seeing his apples disappear from the tree, hid behind a bush to find out who the thief was.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_1-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3145 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_1-1-398x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_1-1-398x600.jpg 398w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_1-1-768x1159.jpg 768w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_1-1-547x825.jpg 547w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_1-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To his surprise, a she-bear appeared!<br \/>\nShe climbed the apple tree and begin to eat with big relish; when she was full, she calmly went away.<br \/>\nThe farmer, on the other hand, was furious, and he decided that he would take his revenge: therefore he chose a branch of his apple tree and he sawed it partially, without removing it completely.<br \/>\nThe day after the she-bear went to the tree for her usual apple snack; she climbed the tree, put her paw on the cut branch and\u2026 Crack!!! Splash!!! The branch broke and she took a frozen bath!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_5-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3146 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_5-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_5-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_5-1-604x400.jpg 604w, https:\/\/valdesina.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/oursa_5-1-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was a lesson to the bear and, from that day onwards, she did not even dare to get near the apple tree!<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to get here:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>follow the road for <a title=\"Pradeltorno \u2013 Angrogna\" href=\"http:\/\/valdesina.it\/en\/2014\/08\/25\/pradeltorno-angrogna-2\/\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Pradeltorno<\/span> <\/a>(district of Angrogna) coming from Torre Pellice and, once you leave the Provincial Street 161 entering the town, take Generale Martinat Street right before the bridge on Angrogna creek.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Go through the whole street and you\u2019ll reach the hamlet known as Chiot dl&#8217;Aiga, then take the road on your left (Pradeltorno Street) that takes to the valley bottom. After 1.2 km you will find an open space with the sign &#8220;Torrente Angrogna &#8211; Toumpi d&#8217;l Oursa.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning my friends!
